The Hikers Bar at the Old Dungeon Ghyll is a beloved walkers’ and climbers’ haunt, a former cow byre with settles, flagstones and Cumbrian ale beneath the Langdale Pikes. Boots and dogs are entirely at home. It stands on the Cumbria Way at the head of Great Langdale, a natural finish to a climb of the Pikes or the scramble up to Dungeon Ghyll Force.
