Dungeon Ghyll Force is set in a rocky cleft above the Old Dungeon Ghyll in Great Langdale, dropping about 60 feet into a dark chasm you have to work a little to see well. A fell path climbs from the valley — steep and stony — and the best views mean picking your way over rock near the gill, so it’s not one for slippery days. Windermere station is roughly 14km to the south-east.
