Tarbat Ness is the long finger of land at the tip of the Tarbat peninsula, ending in one of the tallest lighthouses in Scotland — its red-and-white banded tower a landmark from right across the Moray and Dornoch firths. A minor road beyond Portmahomack runs almost to the point, leaving a short walk to the light. Good for seabirds, and dolphins offshore.
