Tarbat Old Church at Portmahomack has been restored to house the Tarbat Discovery Centre, which tells the story of the only Pictish monastery yet found in Scotland, excavated on this very spot. The centre opens seasonally. Combine it with lunch at The Oystercatcher down in the village.
