Approximate location — this spot is pinned to the nearest village, so the exact point may be a little way off.

Ravenscar sits high on the cliffs at the southern end of Robin Hood’s Bay, on National Trust coast crossed by the Cleveland Way. The views north along the bay are terrific, and just below are the remains of the Peak Alum Works, where shale was once quarried and boiled to fix dyes. Paths lead down toward the shore, but they’re steep and loose underfoot. Robin Hood’s Bay is the obvious pairing for a longer clifftop walk.
