At the very bottom of the steep street through Robin Hood’s Bay, the Bay Hotel sits where the slipway meets the sea — the traditional finish of Wainwright’s Coast to Coast walk, where footsore walkers dip their boots and sign off. A cracking spot for a pint over the water, with food and rooms too. Ruswarp is the nearest station, about 8km north-west.
