Peasholm Park
Local highlightApproximate location — this spot is pinned to the nearest village, so the exact point may be a little way off.
Peasholm Park opened in Scarborough in 1912 as a Japanese-themed pleasure garden, with a pagoda on the island and a boating lake below. Its oddest draw is the Naval Warfare — a mock sea battle fought several times a week in summer with model boats, some crewed by people sitting inside them. Entry to the park is free; you pay for the battle and the boats. Scarborough station is about a mile away.
