The Nene Valley Railway is a preserved steam line running about seven miles along the River Nene, from Wansford through Ferry Meadows to a station on the edge of Peterborough. There’s a working yard of engines and carriages at Wansford, and trains run on advertised days through much of the year. Worth checking the timetable before setting out.
