The green heart of Nene Park, a few miles west of Peterborough, Ferry Meadows is built around lakes and loops of the River Nene. Boardwalks lead through wet woodland, level paths run for miles for walking and cycling, and there’s watersports on the lakes, so it suits a lazy afternoon or a full day out. Parking is charged; Peterborough station is about 4km east, and the Nene Valley Railway steam line runs right through.
