The Lakeland Motor Museum sits by the river at Backbarrow, with a big collection of classic cars, motorbikes and motoring oddments — some 30,000 exhibits — plus a separate display telling the Campbell family’s Bluebird land- and water-speed-record story. Paid admission, with a cafe on site and parking. Easy to combine with a wander along the Leven, and a handy stop for a wet afternoon in the southern Lakes.
