Approximate location — this spot is pinned to the nearest village, so the exact point may be a little way off.
God’s Bridge is a natural limestone slab spanning the River Greta on the moor near Bowes, where the water has cut its own channel through the rock and the ground simply carries on across the top. In dry spells the river vanishes underground above it and reappears below. The Pennine Way crosses here, so most people meet it mid-walk. It’s open moorland with no facilities, a genuinely remote spot best saved for a settled day.
