First explored in 1912 by two local brothers with candles, Dan-yr-Ogof is now the National Showcaves Centre for Wales, a lit walk through stalactite chambers with an underground river running past. It sits in the upper Tawe valley, next door to Craig-y-nos Country Park. A paid attraction, and family-friendly, though expect wet, uneven floors underground. Bring a jacket even in summer.

Full name: Dan-yr-Ogof (National Showcaves Centre for Wales)
