The Bosta Iron Age House is a full-size reconstruction of an ancient dwelling, built above the beach on Great Bernera over the excavated remains that storms uncovered here. Inside it’s low, dark and smoky, with a peat fire and a turf roof — a good feel for how people once lived. Opening is seasonal, so check before you make the drive down to the beach.
