Chalk seabird cliffs teeming with gannets, puffins.
Approximate location — this spot is pinned to the nearest village, so the exact point may be a little way off.
Bempton Cliffs hold the only mainland gannet colony in England, along with puffins, guillemots, razorbills and kittiwakes crammed onto chalk ledges that rise more than 100m from the sea. The RSPB reserve has safe, fenced viewpoints right at the cliff edge, so you can watch the birds without the drop. Come between April and July for the fullest colony; the gannets are around from January. Bempton station is about 2.5km inland, and Flamborough Head is just down the coast.
