Beaumaris Pier opened in 1846 and still runs out from the seafront in the middle of town. It’s the departure point for boat trips around the Menai Strait and out to Puffin Island, and a good spot simply to walk out over the water. Beaumaris itself has the castle and enough to fill a day. Bangor station is about 5km away across the strait.
