Out on Anglesey’s north-east tip, Penmon gathers a medieval priory, a holy well and a domed stone dovecote within a few steps of each other. A toll lane runs on to Penmon Point, where a black-and-white lighthouse marks the strait and Puffin Island lies just offshore. It’s a quiet, end-of-the-road sort of spot, good for a walk and a look across to the mainland.
