Approximate location — this spot is pinned to the nearest village, so the exact point may be a little way off.
The RAF’s Battle of Britain Memorial Flight keeps its historic aircraft airworthy in a working hangar at RAF Coningsby, and you can look round it on a guided tour. The Flight includes the UK’s only airworthy Lancaster, PA474, along with Spitfires, Hurricanes and a Dakota, all still flown at displays through the summer. Access is by pre-booked tour only and there is an admission charge; the aircraft come and go, so a plane may be away flying or under service when you visit. The village of Coningsby is next to the base.
