Coningsby sits at the fen edge beside RAF Coningsby, home of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight — its Spitfires and Lancaster fly from here, and you can visit the BBMF centre. In the village, St Michael’s church carries a huge one-handed clock painted straight onto the tower, said to be the largest single-handed clock in the world.
