The Kinema in the Woods opened in 1922 in a converted pavilion among the pines at Woodhall Spa, and it is the last cinema in Britain still projecting from behind the screen. The rear-projection system on the original screen has run ever since, now alongside newer screens added over the years. It’s a working picture house showing current films, not a museum piece, and easy to combine with a wander round the spa village.
