Behind a wide, quiet beach, Winterton Dunes is a national nature reserve of high marram ridges and damp hollows — unusual sandy heathland that supports natterjack toads and nesting little terns. It backs onto the village of Winterton-on-Sea and runs up the coast towards the Horsey seals. Open access and free; park in the village and walk over the dunes to the sand.
