Behind Winterton lie some of the biggest dunes on the Norfolk coast, a national nature reserve of marram and dune heath backing a wide, quiet beach. A colony of grey seals pups along this shore in winter. The village itself is a cluster of flint cottages under a tall church tower. The dunes are the reason to come.
