The Gosforth Hall Inn is a 17th-century former manor house in the village of Gosforth, near the coast and famous for its pies — reason enough to call in on their own. Handsome old rooms make it a comfortable gateway to Wasdale and the western fells beyond. Seascale, about 4km towards the sea, is the nearest station.
