The Screes Inn

The Screes Inn is a friendly free house in Nether Wasdale, looking towards the dark screes that tumble into Wast Water. It’s a popular walkers’ bar with rooms, one of two inns facing each other across the little village. A quieter base than Wasdale Head itself, yet well within reach of Scafell and the great screes. Drigg, about 8km towards the coast, is the nearest station.
