The Strands Inn at Nether Wasdale brews its own beer in the Strands Brewery out the back, with a rotating range on the bar. It’s the second of the two inns facing each other across this small village near Wast Water, with rooms and food for walkers. A good base for the western fells, and quieter than the head of the valley. Drigg is the nearest station, about 8km south-west.
