A small country dining inn tucked in the hamlet of Bettws Newydd in the Usk valley, the Black Bear has made the Michelin Guide for its cooking. It’s very much a restaurant-with-a-bar rather than a drop-in local, so booking is wise. Pontypool & New Inn station is the nearest, about 8km south-west.
