Places to explore in WrexhamWales · North Wales
Wrexham lies in the north-eastern corner of Wales, between the River Dee and the hills of the Ceiriog and the Berwyn. Its landmark is Telford's Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, a cast-iron trough carrying the canal 38 metres above the Dee and now a World Heritage Site. Chirk Castle, a Marcher fortress on the border, has been lived in for seven centuries, while the mansion at Erddig is known for the story it tells of servants as much as of owners. The medieval tower of St Giles' Church counts among the Seven Wonders of Wales, and the Ceiriog valley climbs west to Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog.
