Overton-on-Dee is a tidy brick village in the Maelor, and the ancient yews in the churchyard of St Mary’s are one of the traditional Seven Wonders of Wales — “Overton yew trees” in the old rhyme. Several are reckoned well over a thousand years old. Ruabon station is around 8km to the west.
