Seat of the Earls of Pembroke for over 400 years, Wilton’s state rooms — the famous Double Cube among them, hung with Van Dycks — came from Inigo Jones and his circle in the 1630s and 40s. Out in the park, the Palladian Bridge of 1737 arches across the Nadder. Near Salisbury, the town about 4km east; paid entry, with the grounds open more widely through the season — the house itself usually shows in summer, though it’s closed through 2026 for refurbishment.
