Mock-Norman Georgian castle in the Malverns.

Eastnor Castle looks medieval but is Georgian sham: Robert Smirke built it between 1812 and 1820 for the first Earl Somers, and his descendants live there still. It stands below the Malvern Hills in a deer park south-east of Ledbury, with a lake and a Victorian arboretum planted up with unusual conifers. Ledbury station is about 4km away. It opens to visitors on selected days from Easter to late September, with both castle and grounds ticketed.
