Deene Park has been home to the Brudenells since 1514, most famously to James Brudenell, seventh Earl of Cardigan, who led the Charge of the Light Brigade in 1854. The house runs from Tudor through Georgian, and its gardens hold a topiary parterre, long mixed borders and walks out to the lake. It sits between Corby and Stamford, and opens on Sundays and set weekdays across the summer.
