Cadhay is a Tudor manor a mile or so from Ottery St Mary, built around 1550 onto the hall of an older house. Its inner courtyard is known as the Court of the Sovereigns, for the statues of Henry VIII and his three children set over the doors. Medieval fishponds lie in the grounds. Privately owned and still lived in; open for guided tours on limited days in summer, so check ahead before setting out.
