Whimple was Whiteway’s cider country for the best part of a century, until the big factory closed in 1989. Courtney’s carries on the making at a smaller scale, with a farm shop and tasting events through the year, and the old orchards are still worked by local cider makers. The Whimple Heritage Centre tells the Whiteway’s story, and the station is right in the village.
