A small East Devon bay on the Jurassic Coast set apart by the row of deep-red sandstone sea stacks rising just offshore
What sets Ladram apart is the row of deep-red sandstone sea stacks rising straight out of the water just off the beach, on the East Devon stretch of the Jurassic Coast. The beach itself is red shingle in a small bay below crumbling cliffs of the same Triassic sandstone. It is a sheltered spot for a swim, and on calm days people paddle kayaks and paddleboards out around the stacks. The South West Coast Path runs along the clifftop, dropping to the Otter Estuary and Budleigh Salterton to the west and climbing towards Sidmouth to the east.
