The Orkney Brewery works out of a former Victorian schoolhouse at Quoyloo on the West Mainland, and is the home of Skull Splitter, a strong ale named after a Viking earl. The old school now holds a five-star visitor centre with a tasting hall and cafe, open spring to autumn, and you can go round on a brewery tour. Handy to fold into a day out towards Yesnaby.
