The cliffs at Marwick Head are packed through the summer with nesting guillemots, razorbills and kittiwakes — an RSPB reserve, loud and busy at the height of the season. On the top stands the tall stone Kitchener Memorial, raised for Lord Kitchener and the crew of HMS Hampshire, lost when the cruiser struck a mine off this coast in 1916. A clifftop path climbs up from Marwick Bay.
