Durham Distillery is the small-batch outfit behind Durham Gin, tucked just outside the city centre. They run tours and tastings where you can see the copper still at work and try the range, and there’s a shop for bottles to take home. Booking ahead is wise, as sessions are limited. It’s an easy add-on to a day in Durham — the cathedral and Prebends Bridge are a short walk off, and Durham station is only about half a kilometre away.
