Colonsay Brewery opened at Scalasaig in 2007 and reckons itself the smallest island in the world to have its own brewery — a tiny two-person operation turning out a handful of bottled ales. You’ll find the beers in the island shop and further afield rather than at a big visitor centre. Colonsay is a CalMac ferry from Oban, so a bottle here comes with a proper sea crossing. Colonsay Gin is made on the same small island.
