St Thomas the Martyr fills a corner of Winchelsea — the surviving chancel and aisles of what was meant to be a far larger medieval town church, left truncated centuries ago. The stonework and glass are reckoned among the finest in Sussex, and it’s usually open daily. Winchelsea station is about 1.2km to the north-west.
