St Peter’s at Lowick is crowned by a rare octagonal lantern tower, ringed with pinnacles and gilded weathervanes, built for the Greene family of Drayton House in the late 14th and 15th centuries. Inside are alabaster effigies of the Greenes and a reset Jesse window of about 1330. The small stone village of Lowick surrounds it, and the Grade I church is open to visitors.
