One of the more surprising churches on the island: a 1930s Roman Catholic church in Amlwch built in reinforced concrete and shaped, deliberately, like an upturned boat, a nod to the port’s seafaring trade. It’s open to visitors and quite unlike the medieval churches elsewhere on Anglesey. Amlwch sits on the north coast, well away from the railway.

Full name: Our Lady Star of the Sea and St Winefride's Church, Amlwch
