A pebbled cove and a huddle of cottages, Moelfre wears its lifeboat history openly. The RNLI station here has launched to some of Anglesey’s worst wrecks, including the Royal Charter, driven onto the rocks in the storm of 1859 with the loss of around 400 lives. A seawatch centre and a well-known seafront cafe stand above the shingle. The coast path north leads to the Lligwy burial chamber and the Din Lligwy hut group.
