The Marble Church at Bodelwyddan — properly St Margaret’s — was built between 1856 and 1860 by Lady Margaret Willoughby de Broke as a memorial to her husband, to a design by the architect John Gibson. Its pale spire climbs to 202 feet and can be seen for miles across the lower Vale of Clwyd; the name comes from the fourteen kinds of marble worked into the interior. Open to visitors, about 6km south of Rhyl.
