St Asaph is one of the smallest cathedrals in Britain, a modest cruciform church begun in the 13th century and largely rebuilt under the early Tudors. William Morgan, who made the first complete translation of the Bible into Welsh, was bishop here, and a copy of his 1588 Bible is kept on display. Entry is free; the cathedral stands in the little city of St Asaph, about 7km inland from Rhyl.
