St Asaph is one of the smallest cities in Britain, little more than a High Street running down to the River Clwyd. Its cathedral — small as cathedrals go, but a cathedral all the same — has stood on the site since the 13th century. William Morgan, who first translated the whole Bible into Welsh, was bishop here and is remembered by a memorial outside. Rhyl station is about 7km north-west.
