A motte-and-bailey castle once stood here — today it survives as earthworks in East Riding of Yorkshire. The Albion Guide lists five motte-and-bailey castles in the county; this is one of them. The nearest railway station is Hull, 7.5 km to the south-west. For more of the same, Swine Castle and Hull Castle are close by.
