Skidby Windmill is the last working windmill north of the Humber — a black-tarred brick tower mill built in 1821 and raised to five storeys in 1870, still grinding wholemeal flour from local wheat. Alongside it, converted warehouses hold the Museum of East Riding Rural Life. It’s open through the week, with milling most days when the wind allows. Beverley is a few miles north; Cottingham station is the nearest stop.
