A motte-and-bailey castle once stood here — today it survives as earthworks in East Sussex. It is the only motte-and-bailey castle the Albion Guide lists in the county. It sits inside the High Weald National Landscape. The closest station is Ashurst (Kent), 3.8 km to the north-east.
