Hartfield is a Wealden village on the northern edge of Ashdown Forest — the woods that A. A. Milne, who lived nearby, turned into the Hundred Acre Wood. The village has the Pooh Corner shop, and Poohsticks Bridge is a short walk out into the forest. Ashurst station is about 4km to the north-east.
