A narrow limestone valley leads down to Mewslade, one of the wildest coves on the Gower, where the sand appears only as the tide drops and vanishes again as it rises. There are no facilities and the last stretch is rocky. Walk in from Pitton; round the headland lie Fall Bay and Worm’s Head. Don’t get caught by the incoming tide.
