The largest post mill in Essex, its timber body swung round on a central post to face the wind. Built around 1779, it was restored to working order by the millwright Vincent Pargeter in 1982 and stands beside the road at Aythorpe Roding on a single-storey brick roundhouse. It opens on advertised days, and turns its sails to mill in a decent wind.
